Colleagues of Post 1468

The Legionnaires have a long history of community involvement within our Syracuse and Central New York communities. Our efforts align with the four pillars of the American Legion, Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth.

But no significant tasks are accomplished alone, and our efforts are no exception. We are honored to be aligned with the best organizations and people, tirelessly working for the betterment of Syracuse, the CNY community, and the Nation as a whole.

These organizations support the American Legion. Please support them when you can, in any way you can. They deserve our respect.

American Legion Post 1468 is proud to participate in the Disabled American Veterans Volunteer Transportation Network.  The DAV, in collaboration with the Syracuse VA Medical Center (VAMC), offers an alternative means for Veterans to get to and from their medical appointments.  The Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN) looks for Drivers to sustain its program for providing FREE rides to Veterans to the Syracuse VAMC and its outpatient clinics throughout Central New York.  Please click the image at left for more information.

Towpath District - Longhouse Council

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Many of our Legionnaire’s, both men and women, started out their lives participating in Scouting.

In keeping with the American legion’s dedication to Children & Youth, Legion Post 1468 is honored to have been invited to sponsor Cub Scout Pack #68 and Boy Scout Troop #68.

Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse

Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse
Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse was formed in 1988 to help residents address “Crime and Quality of Life” concerns in their communities.  It is one of the oldest organizations in Syracuse. Using a “Crime Prevention through Education” philosophy, neighbors are taught how they can work together to improve their communities.  Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse works closely with various agencies such as the Syracuse Police Department, Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, Office of the Mayor, Common Council, Department of Code Enforcement, as well as various city and county agencies.  Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse teaches residents how to be the “Eyes and Ears” for their community so they can help the Syracuse Police Department in their crime prevention efforts.

Valley Post #1468 is proud to partner with Tony Borelli and his endeavors on behalf of the Neighborhood Watch Groups of Syracuse.
