Post 1468 was honored to host the Onondaga County American Legion meeting this past Thursday, February 9th, 2023. During our meeting, County Chaplain Alma Heidenreich conducted a wonderful ceremony commemorating the heroism of WW2 service members George Fox, Alexander Goode, Clark Poling, and John Washington, also known as the FOUR CHAPLAINS.
As Chaplain Heidenreich spoke of the incident, assisting Legionnaires read a brief biography of each of the men, concluding with a ringing of the ceremonial Captain’s Bell and the lighting of candles in remembrance.
